Rapid prediction of multi-directionality of polished surface topography based on angular spectrum

The multi-directionality of polished surface topography (PST) is a key index to characterize the quality and integrity, its prediction before actual machining great significance toolpath planning, verification, optimization. However, most related works reported thus far focus mainly on material removal modeling but few multi-directionality. Hence, this paper proposes rapid method precisely predict PST for pad-polishing process freeform surfaces. With method, pressure distribution model profile (MRP) are first established, in which MRP founded subject quadratic function distribution. Then, avoid time-consuming integral operation model, an artificial neural network developed fit MRP. algorithm further proposed based angular spectrum PST. Simulation experimental studies have shown that can with very high accuracy efficiency polishing, showing application potential promoting planning
